Things
to do
Kick back,
relax and enjoy the view... watch Great Blue Herons fish and
Bald Eagles soar by...drop a line in the water and catch some
fish...enjoy the row boat available for cottage guests or paddle
a canoe or kayak (bring your own or rent one for your stay).
Buffalo
Lake is known for the great fishing but we believe its greatest
asset is the beauty, peace and tranquility. The boat
traffic is minimal, the wildlife abundant and the sunsets are
phenomenal. Paddlers will love this lake because there is
extensive natural shoreline, many streams to explore and minimal
boat traffic. There are many paddling adventures that
await you when you stay at Aunt Becky's Cottage.
In
Montello, you’ll find quaint shops, restaurants, an old
fashioned candy and ice cream shop, a single-run movie theater,
the Montello Granite Park Waterfalls and “The Towering
Cottonwood,” Wisconsin’s largest tree, among the must-see stops.
John Muir
County Park and the
Marquette County
Fairgrounds are nearby and the
Bison Ridge Ranch
buffalo farm is just down the road. A network of colorful
bicycling trails crisscross the area and the
Page Creek Marsh Wetland Preserve provides trails for hiking
and nature walks.
